Come As You Are: An Invitation to Simply Be

The Invitation

There is an unspoken question that many of us carry through life.

Am I doing enough?

Am I being enough?

Should I be further along by now?

We ask ourselves these questions so often that they begin to feel normal. We carry them into our work, our relationships, our ambitions, and even into our holidays.

Yet what if, just for a little while, you could set those questions down?

What if there was nowhere to rush to, nothing to achieve, and no expectation other than to simply be yourself?

This is the invitation we offer at Finca la Vida.

Not an invitation to become someone new.

Not an invitation to fix yourself.

Not an invitation to transform into a better version of who you are.

An invitation to remember that you are already enough.

Arrive As You Are

When guests arrive at Finca la Vida, many tell us they feel something shift almost immediately.

Perhaps it is the quietness of the mountains.

Perhaps it is the vast views stretching towards the Mediterranean Sea.

Or perhaps it is simply the relief of stepping away from the demands of everyday life.

Whatever the reason, there is often a deep exhale.

The kind of exhale that says, “I can stop now.”

You don’t need a plan here.

You don’t need a schedule.

You don’t need to make the most of every moment.

You are free to spend an afternoon reading beneath an olive tree, watching the clouds drift over the mountains, sharing time with the animals, or doing absolutely nothing at all.

Lessons from the Donkeys

Soon, Sedna and Freya, our rescue mother-and-daughter donkeys, will become part of life here at Finca la Vida.

As we prepare to welcome them home, we find ourselves reflecting on the lessons animals offer so naturally.

They do not worry about yesterday.

They do not chase tomorrow.

They simply meet each day as it comes.

There is wisdom in that.

Their gentle presence will become another reminder of what we hope guests discover here—that peace is not something we need to earn.

It is something we allow ourselves to receive.

A Different Kind of Welcome

At Finca la Vida, we are not interested in telling you how to spend your time.

Some guests come seeking solitude.

Others come seeking connection.

Some arrive exhausted and needing rest.

Others arrive inspired and ready for new adventures.

All are welcome.

This sanctuary was never created to be a place where people come to become someone else.

It was created to be a place where people can return to themselves.

Our Invitation

So wherever you are in life right now, this is our invitation to you.

Come as you are.

Bring your hopes, your worries, your dreams, your tiredness, your curiosity, your joy.

Bring all of it.

The mountains will not judge you.

The animals will not judge you.

And neither will we.

There is a place for you here.

A place to rest.

A place to reconnect.

A place to remember that sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply allow ourselves to be.

With warm wishes,

Samantha & Clifford
