There is something about the mountains that cannot easily be explained.
Perhaps it is the stillness. Perhaps it is the vastness of the landscape. Or perhaps it is the way nature gently reminds us of what truly matters.
Here at Finca la Vida, surrounded by the mountains of Andalucía and with views stretching across the countryside to the Mediterranean Sea, we have come to understand that some of life’s deepest healing happens not through doing more, but through slowing down enough to simply be.
Our name, Finca la Vida — The Farmhouse of Life — reflects our belief in the life force that flows through all living things. The ancient olive and almond trees, the wildlife that inhabits the valley, the changing seasons, the stars overhead, and the rhythm of the land itself all remind us that we are part of something far greater than ourselves.
This understanding lies at the heart of our vision to create a Sanctuary for the Soul.
A place where guests can step away from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with nature, with themselves, and with the quieter wisdom that often gets lost in the busyness of modern living.
Over the years, we have come to realise that healing rarely arrives with fanfare. More often, it appears quietly—in birdsong at dawn, a conversation beneath the stars, the gentle nuzzle of an animal, or a moment of stillness when the mind finally settles and the heart remembers what it already knows.
Healing here does not come from a prescribed programme or a strict schedule.
It may be found sitting quietly with a morning coffee as the sun rises over the mountains.
It may arrive during a gentle walk amongst the olive groves, listening to birdsong carried on the breeze.
It may emerge while journaling beneath a blanket of stars, watching the moon illuminate the surrounding peaks.
Or it may simply be found in the deep exhale that comes when you realise there is nowhere to rush to and nothing expected of you.
Nature has a remarkable way of bringing us back to ourselves.

Life at Finca la Vida is shaped by simple rituals that invite presence and connection.
The slow and mindful process of creating sourdough bread reminds us that good things take time.
Working with herbs and botanicals reconnects us to centuries of natural wisdom and healing traditions.
Meditation and journaling create space to listen to our inner voice and reflect on what truly nourishes us.
The crystals that sit throughout the finca serve as gentle reminders of intention, energy and awareness, while the ever-changing skies encourage us to live in harmony with the natural rhythms that surround us.
None of these practices are about perfection. They are simply invitations to slow down, become present, and reconnect with what truly matters.
Animals have always been an important part of life at Finca la Vida.
There is something profoundly healing about their ability to live entirely in the present moment. They ask for very little, yet teach us so much about trust, patience, gentleness, and connection.
Soon, two very special new residents will become part of our sanctuary.
Sedna and Freya, our rescue mother-and-daughter donkeys, will join the growing family of animals that call Finca la Vida home.
Donkeys are often described as gentle teachers. Their calm presence, quiet strength, and grounding energy invite us to slow our pace and reconnect with life’s simpler rhythms. We believe they will bring something truly special to the sanctuary, not only for themselves as they begin their new chapter, but also for every guest who spends time in their company.
Their arrival feels like a natural extension of the vision we continue to nurture here — a sanctuary where both animals and people can feel safe, cared for, and free to simply be.

In a world that often encourages us to move faster, achieve more, and stay constantly connected, the mountains offer a different invitation.
To pause.
To breathe.
To listen.
To remember who we are beneath the noise.
Whether you come to Finca la Vida seeking rest, inspiration, healing, connection, or simply a few days of peace, our hope is that you leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected to yourself and the natural world around you.
The medicine of the mountains is not something we can give you.
It is something the land gently helps you rediscover within yourself.
With gratitude,
Samantha & Clifford
