Sometimes life has a way of bringing exactly what is needed, often when you aren’t looking for it.
This week, two tiny sisters found their way to Finca la Vida.
One is sleek and black, full of confidence and curiosity. The other is a gentle tabby, a little more cautious, preferring to pause and observe before taking her next step. Different personalities, yet already inseparable.
What made the day even more special wasn’t just bringing them home. It was meeting the lovely couple who had cared for them. Every now and then you meet people and something simply clicks. There is an ease to the conversation, a feeling that your paths have crossed for a reason. As we drove away with two tiny kittens safely tucked into their carrier, it felt as though we had gained more than two new members of our animal family. We may just have made two new friends as well.

Perhaps that was the kittens’ first gift to us.
And somehow it felt fitting that they arrived on the eve of the Strawberry Moon—a time often associated with gratitude, abundance and new beginnings. Whether by coincidence or something a little more mysterious, it felt like a beautiful way to begin their story with us.
Watching them explore their new home has been a joy. Every corner of the finca has become an adventure. Every rustling leaf deserves investigating. Every sunlit spot is the perfect place for an afternoon nap. They are already teaching us something we so easily forget—to be present, to be curious and to find happiness in the simplest of moments.
When we first came to Finca la Vida, our dream was to create a place where people could come to rest. Somewhere to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with themselves.
What we didn’t realise was that, little by little, the animals would begin finding us too.
Our rescue dogs. Our cats. Sedna and Freya, who arrived carrying their own stories and now spend their days surrounded by kindness, peace and freedom. And now these two tiny sisters, beginning a new chapter of their own.
None of this was carefully planned.
It has simply unfolded, one beautiful step at a time.
As we sat watching the kittens playing together, it struck us once again that this place seems to have a way of opening its heart a little wider every year. What began as a sanctuary for people has quietly become a sanctuary for animals too.

There is something deeply healing about sharing life with animals. They don’t ask us to be anything other than who we are. They remind us to slow down, to laugh, to notice the beauty around us and to appreciate the quiet moments that so often pass us by.
These two little sisters have only just arrived, but they already feel as though they belong here.
Perhaps that is the greatest gift any of us can receive—to feel safe, to feel accepted and to know we’ve found somewhere we can simply be.
So, welcome, little ones.
May your days be filled with sunshine, olive trees, butterflies to chase, cosy places to sleep and endless adventures together.
We have a feeling you’re going to be very loved here.
